Hello, I am Rina, a UX/UI Designer and Illustrator with a background in engineering based in Canada!
I am happy to share with you a collection of my work that shows my interest in creating engaging and intuitive user experiences that blend form and function.
Creating and learning about art is one of my passions. From doodling in my sketchbook to creating an illustration, to following a design brief and meeting the project goals, I have found that all creative endeavours bring me joy and fulfillment.
Most recently, I decided to explore the design world and make it part of my professional development; I am excited by all that I have found, and I know there is more to be discovered and learned.
My way of working is a mix of a structured process and intuition. I hope that while exploring my work you can get a sense of my design process.
First, I like to research the customer, topic and user needs/expectations.
Brainstorm ideas through mind maps/keywords/word association.
Create a plan of action to achieve the project goals.
Then, I follow an intuitive and iterative process, letting the creative juices flow, making sketches and rough wireframes/drawings of the design/illustrations.
Isolating a few solutions for feedback.
Iterate, rinse and repeat! Until we find the optimal solution.
My skillset is always evolving, as I love to polish and learn new skills. Currently, I am proficient in tools such as Procreate, XD, Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop and Indesign. I also have experience with HTML and CSS. Next on my list is video editing and digital 3D models.
My aspirations are ever-growing, right now my focus is on gaining hands-on design work experience, ideally in a company in the creative industry. But, I also work on personal projects, including designing a mobile game and illustrating/writing a children’s book.
